The US President Donald Trump reportedly said that he was “absolutely” considering enhancing sanctions on Russia after its latest strike against Ukraine.

After Russia launched a fresh offensive against Ukraine following the prisoner swap by hitting the country with a record number of drones and killing 13 people, United States President Donald Trump said he is “not happy” with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.
“I’m not happy with what Putin is doing. He’s killing a lot of people, and I don’t know what the hell happened to him,” Trump said at Morristown airport.
rump Condemns Putin’s Actions Amid Russia’s Largest Aerial Attack on Ukraine
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has strongly criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recent military actions in Ukraine, expressing deep concern over the escalating violence.
“I’ve known him a long time, always gotten along with him, but he’s sending rockets into cities and killing people, and I don’t like it at all,” Trump said at Morristown airport. He further stated that he is “absolutely” considering enhancing sanctions on Russia following the latest strike against Ukraine, according to AFP.
Shortly after, Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to post a strongly worded message calling Putin “absolutely CRAZY!” He accused Putin of “needlessly killing a lot of people, and I’m not just talking about soldiers.” Trump condemned the missile and drone strikes targeting Ukrainian cities and warned that Putin’s desire to control all of Ukraine “will lead to the downfall of Russia.”
Trump also expressed discontent with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, stating, “Likewise, President Zelenskyy is doing his country no favors by talking the way he does. Everything out of his mouth causes problems, I don’t like it, and it better stop.”
The former president reiterated that the war would not have started under his administration, describing the conflict as “Zelenskyy’s, Putin’s, and Biden’s War, not ‘Trump’s.’ I am only helping to put out the big and ugly fires that have been started through gross incompetence and hatred.”
Trump’s remarks come in the wake of Russia’s largest aerial offensive of the war so far, involving up to 367 drones and missiles launched overnight on Sunday. The strikes hit multiple cities, including the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, according to Reuters.
This massive attack coincided with the countries’ largest prisoner swap during the three-year-long conflict, with around 1,000 captured soldiers and prisoners exchanged over the weekend.
Tragically, the Russian strikes resulted in 13 deaths, including two children aged eight and 12, and a 17-year-old, officials reported via AFP.
Following the attack, President Zelensky condemned the brutality and called for “truly strong pressure” to stop Russia’s aggression. “The war can be stopped, but only through the necessary force of pressure on Russia. Putin must be forced to think not about launching missiles, but about ending the war,” Zelensky said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
