Irish band Kneecap were pictured with an unlikely fan as they all posed for a picture during Coachella week two. The band were spotted with American adult star Mia Khalifa, who was proudly sporting an Irish jersey in the photo.
Alongside working in the adult entertainment industry, Mia is a political activist, speaking out mainly about the Israel-Palestine conflicts. Over the last four years she has been expressing her views on the US military aid to Israel, and calling the country an apartheid state.
The Irish rap trio Kneecap have also been critical of Israel, and after Mia was spotted wearing a tricolour balaclava a la DJ Provaí for what she dubbed ‘Kneecapchella,’ it became the most unexpected collaboration this Coachella season.
Coachella is renowned for being a celebrity playground, spotting A-list stars attending the festival is to be expected. But seeing Kneecap alongside Mia Khalifa sent the Irish band’s fans into a frenzy. The band shared a photo from The Glass House music venue in Pomona, California following a concert, Móglaí Bap, Mo Chara and DJ Provaí were seen posing with Mia, who was wearing a Bohemians away jersey.
Fans were quick to comment on the photo, as one wrote: “Insane crossover,” while another penned: “F****G LEGENDARY COLLAB RIGHT HERE YESSS.” A third gushed: “The collab I never knew I needed.”
The trio’s Coachella set is kicking off a huge summer tour which will see them playing dozens of huge outdoor gigs and festivals; including a gig in Fairview Park, Dublin. They are also set to play two gigs in the 3Arena for the biggest shows of their careers.
