Maruti Suzuki on April 2 announced that it is hiking the prices of its select car models from April 8. Grand Vitara will face the biggest price hike of up to Rs 62,000. The price of its popular SUV model currently starts from Rs 11.19 lakh.
“While the company is committed to optimise costs and reduce the impact on its customers, the company is constrained to pass on some of the increased expenses to the market,” the automaker said in its exchange filing.
Other car models which will see a rise in their ex-showroom prices include Eeco (up to Rs 22,500), Wagon-R (up to Rs 14,000), Ertiga (up to Rs 12,500), XL6 (up to Rs 12,500), Dzire Tour S (up to Rs 3,000) and Fronx (up to Rs 2,500).

Earlier on March 17, Maruti Suzuki had announced that it will hike car prices by up to 4 percent from April 2025, due to rising raw material and operational costs. It had then said the price hike will vary depending on the car model.
Notably, its peer automakers Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors and others have also recently announced price hikes.
Maruti Suzuki on April 1 reported a marginal increase of 3 percent in its sales to 1,92,984 units in March. The car maker sold 1,87,196 units in the same month a year ago. However, the monthly sales fell 3.2 percent from the 1,99,400 units in February.
