Universal Pictures has unveiled the highly anticipated second and final trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth, the next chapter in the globally beloved dinosaur saga. The film is set to stomp into theaters worldwide on July 2, 2025, just in time for the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
Directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Rogue One) and written by David Koepp (screenwriter of Jurassic Park and The Lost World), Jurassic World Rebirth marks a bold new direction for the franchise. The story is set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion and introduces a fresh cast led by Scarlett Johansson, who plays Zora Bennett, a covert operative on a mission to retrieve dangerous genetic material from a remote island—home to the world’s most fearsome dinosaurs.
The newly released trailer delivers adrenaline-pumping action, heart-pounding suspense, and never-before-seen dinosaur hybrids. Among the standout scenes is a long-awaited sequence inspired by the original Michael Crichton novel: a whitewater raft chase involving a Tyrannosaurus rex, brought to life on-screen for the first time. Also teased is a terrifying encounter with a new creature called the Distortus rex, a mutated six-limbed apex predator that adds a horror twist to the adventure.
“This film honors the legacy of Jurassic Park while launching the franchise into thrilling new territory,” said director Gareth Edwards during a recent press event.
In addition to Johansson, the film stars Mahershala Ali as team leader Duncan Kincaid and Jonathan Bailey as paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis. The ensemble cast also includes Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, and Ed Skrein.
Jurassic World Rebirth is expected to blend classic survival horror with modern sci-fi spectacle, returning to the suspenseful tone that made the original 1993 film a cultural phenomenon. With a fresh creative team and a darker, more grounded story, the film aims to revitalize the billion-dollar franchise for a new generation.
