Prime Video has officially dropped the first trailer for Heads of State, an explosive action-comedy starring John Cena and Idris Elba. The film is set for release on July 2, 2025, exclusively on the streaming platform.
In Heads of State, Cena plays U.S. President Will Derringer and Elba portrays U.K. Prime Minister Sam Clarke. The two leaders, infamous for their public rivalry, must set aside their differences when a high-stakes diplomatic mission turns deadly. With their security teams compromised, they’re forced to rely solely on each other to survive and foil a dangerous conspiracy.
The movie also stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas as MI6 agent Noel Bisset and Jack Quaid in a pivotal role. Directed by Ilya Naishuller (Nobody), the film was penned by Harrison Query, Josh Appelbaum, and André Nemec. Cena and Elba also serve as producers.
Heads of State promises a blend of adrenaline-pumping action and hilarious buddy-comedy antics, following in the footsteps of the duo’s previous collaboration in The Suicide Squad.
