The high-profile ex in question is none other than Angelina Jolie, with whom the F1 star is embroiled in a legal battle over their “War of the Roses” and recently settled their divorce, eight years after officially filing for one. According to the outlet, when a friend asked Affleck to name his movie crush, he named the Maleficent star just days after opening up about his split from Jennifer Lopez, calling their breakup “scandal and drama free.”

“Ben said that he has always thought that she (Angelina Jolie) was very hot and has admired how she has navigated her career,” a source told MailOnline. “He also thinks it’s pretty cool that she has directed films too—something he has done many times. They would certainly have a lot to talk about over dinner,” they added. Affleck once dated another of Pitt’s exes, Gwyneth Paltrow, from 1997 to 2000 before his JLo era began. Paltrow parted ways with Pitt in 1997. For days now, the Gigli star has been rumoured to be dating several big names, including his ex-wife Jennifer Garner—speculation he recently hinted was bogus, though he never addressed it directly. Photos from the 2001 Vanity Fair event have surfaced, showing Affleck “whispering” something in Jolie’s ear and even exchanging a look at the 2014 Hollywood Film Awards.
Affleck opened up about his split with JLo in GQ and addressed the viral claim that their relationship began to develop cracks after their hyped documentary and failed JLo comeback. “And I think it’s important to say that wasn’t the cause of some major fracture. It’s not like you can watch that documentary and go, ‘Oh, now I understand the issues that these two had,’” Affleck said. Though the star accepted that the two celebs have different approaches when it comes to handling the spotlight, he revealed that “there’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue” behind their breakup, but he wouldn’t share details because it was “just sort of embarrassing.”
