Amber Heard plans to return to acting career on her new terms

Amber Heard is gearing up for a potential return to acting—but on one key condition.
The Aquaman actress, who is currently residing in Spain, has been reinventing herself following her loss in the defamation case against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp.
A source told In Touch Weekly that Amber “is gradually finding her footing and reconnecting with her supporters.”
“Amber is navigating a delicate situation right now,” the insider explained. “There’s a real desire for her to return to the acting scene, but she’s clear that it won’t happen unless it’s entirely on her terms.”
The source further revealed, “She’s only considering a return if the project allows her to have significant control over key decisions—such as production, marketing, and release.”
For the first time, Amber has shown assertiveness about her career and is “demanding real power” in her future movie projects, according to the insider.
“You can’t help but notice that, even though she wants nothing to do with Johnny, she’s taking a page from his playbook here,” the source added. “Johnny’s famously known for refusing roles unless he’s calling the shots.”
The insider continued, saying Amber “aspires to have the same level of control” as Johnny, but emphasized that “she needs to build a new track record of successful projects—and quickly.”
“Time is ticking, and she’s putting pressure on herself to find the perfect comeback film,” the source concluded.
In the meantime, Amber has been living in Spain with her three-year-old daughter, Oonagh Paige.
