While filming Christopher Nolan’s much-anticipated epic The Odyssey in Scotland, Matt Damon is making the most of his time both on and off set. Playing the legendary Greek king Odysseus, Damon has been spotted enjoying the local culture and connecting with fans across the Moray region.
Recently, Damon visited The Seafield Arms in Cullen, a local favorite, where he didn’t hesitate to praise the food as “the best we’ve had on our journey around the world.” His warm appreciation for the region’s hospitality has won over locals and added a personal touch to the production.
Away from the cameras, Damon has been exploring nearby attractions, including a fun visit to the Midlothian Snowsports Centre. There, he experienced Scotland’s only alpine coaster, enjoying some family time away from the intense filming schedule.
Damon’s genuine and down-to-earth attitude was also on display at a gym in Buckie, where he happily posed for photos with fans while sporting a Buckie Thistle football shirt. This friendly interaction has endeared him even more to the local community.
The star-studded film, featuring Zendaya, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, and Charlize Theron, is being shot across multiple countries including Morocco, Greece, and Sicily. The Moray region of Scotland has been transformed into ancient Greece, with locations such as Findlater Castle and Buckie Harbour doubling as iconic Greek settings.
