The beloved children’s series CoComelon is set to leave Netflix and become an exclusive on Disney+ starting in 2027. Disney has secured the exclusive streaming rights to all eight seasons of the show, marking a significant shift in the preschool streaming landscape.
CoComelon has been a staple of Netflix’s kids’ programming since 2020, but recent years have seen a sharp decline in its viewership on the platform—reports indicate a nearly 60% drop. This decline paved the way for Disney to swoop in and acquire the rights, aiming to boost its family-friendly content offering.
In addition to the streaming move, a CoComelon feature film, produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Universal Pictures, is also scheduled for release in 2027, promising new adventures for fans.
While the show will be exclusive to Disney+ for paid streaming, CoComelon’s hugely popular YouTube channel will continue to operate independently, maintaining its massive global audience.
